Olive Misner

Mrs. Olive Misner, 82, of Thurmont, Maryland, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 19, 2012 She was the wife of the late John L. Misner who preceded her in death in 1974.
Born May 24, 1930 in Myersdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Marie Dishong Engle Carbaugh and Calvin U. Engle.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and a sister to all.
She is survived by her daughters: Pat Ridenour and husband Roger of Cascade and Bev Shriner and Norma Jean Misner, both of Thurmont, seven grandchildren: Tracy Boyd and husband Bruce, Andrea Shafer, Sherry Myers and husband Rob, Tim Fox, Joe Fox and wife Tina, Jonathan Fox and wife Cindy, and Brian Misner; sixteen great grandchildren and three great great granddaughters. brothers: Steve Carbaugh and wife Margie and Walter Carbaugh and wife Maria, friends and neighbors; Treva Speak and Greg Edelen. She was preceded in death by two sons: John L. Misner, Jr and Daniel Misner; one brother Frank Carbaugh; her loving sister Grace Bowers; step-father, John Carbaugh; and devoted dog "Sue".
Mrs. Misner was a life long member of Victory Tabernacle in Catoctin Furnace. She worked at Claire Frock sewing factory for 31 years and the Thurmont Kountry Kitchen for over 10 years where everyone called her "Grandma". She was famous for her homemade Apple Pies, Applesauce, Raisin Cakes, Mincemeat Pies, and Chicken Pot Pie. She loved to fish and drove like she was on a race track. Olive loved to watch John Wayne movies and listen to Gospel music.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD on Sunday, July 22, from 5-9 pm, where services will be held Monday, July 23, at 11:00 am with Pastor Aaron Reynolds officiating.
Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be: Bruce Boyd, Rob Myers, Bruce Boyd, Jr., Bobby and Nick Myers, and Paris Perez.
Any donations can be made directly to her beloved church, Victory Tabernacle, 6710 Kelly Store Road, Thurmont, MD 21788 in her name.
