Mrs. Olive Viola McGovern, 84, of 70 Sherwood Drive, Walkersville, MD, died Friday, September 14, 2012 at Glade Valley Nursing Home, Walkersville, after a brief illness.
Born on January 6, 1928 in Sellersville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter Essling Beadling and Olive Viola Schriner.
Mrs. McGovern was a home maker, stay at home mother, and in-home daycare provider. In the 1960s she was employed at Geico in Tacoma Park, MD. In the 1980s, she was employed as a nursing assistant for the late Harold B. Duvall of Frederick, MD.
She is survived by her son, Hugh A. McGovern, Jr. and his wife Frances Ann Huller, three brothers, Walter Essling Beadling, Jr, Orian Justin Beadling, and Franz Lowell Beadling, as well as two sisters, Constance Cherie Clapper, and Fern Hope Beadling, and two grandchildren, Keelin and Ewen McGovern and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McGovern was preceded in death by her late husband Hugh A. McGovern, Sr., and a brother Ivan Erb Beadling.
A viewing will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville, MD on Thursday, September 20, from 7:00 to 9:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 21, at 11:00 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD with Msgr. Richard J. Murphy officiating.
Interment will be in Glade Cemetery in Walkersville.
