Mrs. Olinda V. Alves, 69, of Mt. Airy died on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Gaspar Fernandes Alves.
Born on November 26, 1942 in Rossas, Vieira do Minho Portugal she was the daughter of the late Jose Joaquim Lourenco Alves and Berta Mendes Vieira.
She is survived by her children, Carla Painter and husband Jason of Spring City, PA, Anabel Fink and husband Donald Jr. of Mt. Airy, MD, Maria Kemery and husband Thomas of Sicklerville, NJ and four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Angelique, Joshua and Tyler. She is also survived by six siblings.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Thursday, October 18, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, October 19, 2012 at St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD. Msgr. Richard Murphy will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery, Emmitsburg, MD.
