Odella Jeanne Rhodes

Odella Jeanne Rhodes passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025 in Boonsboro, MD. A beloved mother, and successful businesswoman, she leaves behind a legacy of strength, dedication, and unwavering support for her beloved clients and family.

Jeanne Rhodes was a trailblazer in the health industry, creating Jeanne Rhodes Preventive Health Institute in 1982. Her leadership and business acumen inspired many, and she was known for innovation in lifestyle medicine, integrity, and compassion. Jeanne is a successful author and video creator and was a writer for the Herald Mail wellness and health pages.

Jeanne was a devoted wife to Master Sergeant Ralph Austin (Pete) Hagan who passed in December 1992. She was a supporting mother to Pamela Jeanne Hagan, who passed in June 2024, and Odella Dianne Hagan of Gapland, Md. Jeanne was widowed the second time by her late husband, John N. Rhodes in 2018.

Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Dr. Odella Dianne Hagan, grandson Dylan Alexander Lewis of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, and Ian Connor Hagan. She has many loved nieces and nephews, Robin Harrell-Spence, Deborah Harrell -Eckel, James Harrell, Chuck Harrell, Sharon Harrell -Yates and Mark Harrell.

She was predeceased by her two brothers; Robert Harrell Jr. and Jerry Harrell, both of Hagerstown and one nephew, Randy Harrell.

Jeanne has had a life of service to others beginning as a nurse at Washington County Hospital, a teacher at Sharpsburg elementary school and culminating with her business in health education. She graduated from Boonsboro High School, Shepherd University and University of West Virginia.

The family will receive friends at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home,7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713, on Friday April 18, 2025, from 3 to 5 PM
