Notley Offutt Sr.

Mr. Notley Joseph Offutt, Sr., 70, of Walkersville, died on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy after valiantly fighting Lewy Body disease for 10 years. He was survived by his wife Billie Elizabeth Swingle Offutt.

Born on March 10, 1941 , in Barnesville MD, he was the son of the late Leonard Jerome Sr., and Mary Loretta Davis Offutt.

Mr. Offutt was a supervisor in Maintenance for M.C.P. Schools in Rockville , MD and retired after 43 years of service. He enjoyed riding horses, team penning, golfing, tennis and motor cycle riding.

Mr. Offutt was a very active member of St. Peters Catholic Church, in Libertytown.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: N. Joseph Offutt Jr., and wife Sheri of Frederick, Jeanette Marie Rimmelzwaan-Offutt and husband Guus of the Netherlands and Mark Stephen Offutt of Walkersville. Grandchildren: Pascale, Meryl, Holly, Ian and Kyle. Brother, Leonard Jerome Offutt and wife Winifred. Sisters, Loretta Pugh and husband Hunter, Harriett Anne Carlton and Helen Mazzuca and husband Ralph. He was preceded in death by his grandsons, Bradley and Justin Offutt along with two brothers, Charles and Stephen Offutt and a sister Lucy Walther.

Visitation will be held on Thursday May 12, 2011 , from 3-5 & 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday May 13, at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 9190 Church St # A Libertytown, MD 21762. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
