Norman Jerome Hannah

Mr. Norman Jerome Hannah, Jr., 92 of Mt. Airy, MD., died Friday, December 25, 2009 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Oehler Hannah.

Born September 13, 1917 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Norman Jerome, Sr. And Clarissa Williams Hannah.

Mr. Hannah retired at a Rate Officer from the Southern Railway after 46 years of service. He was a member of the Lanham Maryland United Methodist Church but regularly attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Mt. Airy. In earlier years he taught Sunday School and led Bible Studies at the Grant Park Methodist Church in Atlanta. He was an avid participant at the Mt. Airy Senior Center.

He is survived by two children Norma Raymond and husband Stephen of Mt. Airy and Virginia Reynolds and husband Robert of Bloxom, VA, grandchildren Amy Thompson and husband Charles, Stephen Raymond and wife Amy, Brittany Raymond, Sarah Reynolds and Ashley Reynolds, great grandchildren Colin and William Thompson, nieces Carole Patton and Marie Kitka and a nephew William Hannah.

He was preceded in death by a sister Annie McKenzie and a brother William Hannah.

Services: The family will receive friends at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 403 South Main Street, Mt. Airy, MD on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 10:30 until service time at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Dennis E. Yocum will officiate.
Interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy
