Norman David Wiles

Mr. Norman David Wiles, 83 of Frederick died on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Frederick. He was the husband of the late Lillian Wiles, his wife of 65 years.

Born September 19, 1924 in Mountaindale, he was the son of the late Vernon C. Wiles and Bertie Mae Fox Wiles.

Mr. Wiles retired from the maintenance department at Hood College in 1989.

He enjoyed gardening and working around the house. He was always there if you needed him. He took care of his wife until her passing in January.

He is survived by a son, David L. Wiles and wife Linda of Thurmont, five grandchildren, Lisa R. Eckenrode and husband Tony of Keymar, Amy M. Wiles of Frederick, Jeffrey S. Wiles of Emmitsburg, Rose Maire Sauro of Frederick and John R. Harley, Jr. of Frederick, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchildren, three brothers, Raymond Wiles and wife Ethel, Jesse Wiles and Carl Wiles, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn M. Harley, and his other brothers and sisters.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, May 21, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 22 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tim May officiating.

Interment will take place in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
