Norman Sarver

December 18, 1934 — November 10, 2013

Mr. Norman L. “Reds” Sarver, 78, of Mt. Airy died on Sunday November 10, 2013 at his home. He was the husband for 50 years of Margaret E. Sarver.
Born on December 18, 1934 in Craig County, Virginia he was the son of the late Markie Bigler and Margurete E. Geason Sarver.
He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and China Service Medal. He worked for over 25 years for Capital Carpets and other local companies.  He was a member of Mt. Airy VFW, American Legion, AMVETS in Frederick, and Nights of Pythias of Gaithersburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife are brothers Conrad G., Robert T. and Richard B. Sarver and sister Ida Loftstrom. He was preceded in death by brothers Lawrence P. and Calvin B. Sarver and sisters Bonnie Rassler, Helen Lustig, Mary Ann Flint and Judy Mills. Also loved by many Nieces, Nephews, Brother and Sister in Laws and friends.
Visitation will be 3-5 & 7-9pm on Friday November 15, 2013 at the Stauffer Funeral Homes P. A., 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday November 16, 2013. Reverend Tim May will officiate. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
