Norman A. Nolan, Jr., 81, of Mount Airy, passed from this life on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at his residence. He was the husband of Rosalie Nolan, his wife of 52 years.
Born on January 29, 1943, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Norman Alfred Nolan, Sr. and Meredith Sullivan Nolan, and Irene Nolan.
His love of cars and trucks led him to the automotive industry, working for Mays Brake Service, Heavy Duty Parts and retired in 2004 from Northern Virginia Supply.
Norman had an extensive collection of Coca Cola memorabilia, as well as anything T-Bird. He was a member of MD-DC-VA Coca Cola Collection Club and the Potomac Classic Thunderbird Club.
He enjoyed family trips to the beach, fishing, antiquing and family gatherings.
Surviving are 3 children: Kathy Halstead and husband Steve, Virgil Nolan and wife Michelle, Cheryl Magers and husband Kenny; 5 grandchildren: Crystal Halstead, Steven Halstead and wife Christin, Emma Magers, Brandon Black, Heatherlyn Braithwaite and husband Ben; 4 great grandchildren: Kayleigh, Payton, Walker and Jackson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Nolan.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, May 11, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD 21771, where a celebration of Norman's life will begin at 11:00 AM. Rev Tim May will officiate. Following a brief reception, interment will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Gardens in Elkridge, MD.
