Norma L. Evans, 79, of New Market, died on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born, August 8, 1933 in Maine, she was the daughter of the late Hilda Foley and Lawrence Staples. Before retiring in 2010, Norma was the Purchasing Manager at Lerner Enterprises in Rockville, MD, where she worked for 38 years. She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Halter of New Market, MD and Leslie Clementson and husband Richard of Frederick, MD; one son, Douglas Evans and wife Helen of New Market, MD; one brother, Lawrence Staples and wife Janice of Waterboro, Maine; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Purgason and husband Jeff of New Market, MD, Timothy Halter and fiancé Janice Rollyson of Woodbine, MD, Michael Clementon and wife Katelyn of Poolesville, MD, Matthew Clemenston, Megan Clementson, and Mark Clementson of Frederick, MD, and Christopher Evans and Douglas Evans of New Market, MD; and two great-grandchildren, Emily Purgason and Claire Purgason of New Market, MD. She will be fondly remembered by many other family and friends. Norma loved her family and was very devoted to them. Her favorite times were those spent when everyone was together. She will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Edenton Retirement Community at 6:30pm on Sunday, January 13, 2013.
