Nora L. (Smith) Webber Hutzell , 77, of Main Street in Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life to the next on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at her home.
Born on August 20, 1934, in Yarrowsburg, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Albertus Fred and Mabel Naomi (Coulter) Smith. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Leroy Webber in 1983, and her second husband, Glenn Elwood Hutzell in 2010.
She was a retired employee of Brethren Mutual Insurance Company in Hagerstown where she had worked for 10 years.
Nora was a member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren where she was an active participant in Sunday School, the Choir, and had served as a Deacon and on various committees. She was also a member of the Friends at Reeders Memorial Home.
She is survived by her son, Thomas L. Webber and his wife Mary of New Midway, Maryland; and two step-sons, James E. Hutzell and his wife Judy of Martinsburg, West Virginia and Jeffrey A. Hutzell and his wife JoAnn of Gapland, Maryland. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Road, Brownsville, Maryland. Rev. Alan M. Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at the Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland where friends may begin visiting at 12 noon. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Road, Brownsville, Maryland, 21715.
