Mrs. Nina E. Valcarcel, 68, of Walkersville died on Tuesday June 3, at her home. She was the loving wife for 45 years of Julio Valcarcel.
Born on August 6, 1939 in Cinco, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late Edison and Della Buckland Campbell.
Mrs. Valcarcel served in the U. S. Navy from 1958-1962. During her service in the Navy she met her husband and they traveled throughout the world. Nina enjoyed oil painting, gardening, sewing and most of all spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society Spicy Crabs, WOW Gals and Water Lillies, the Ladies auxiliary of Fleet Reserve Association, the Frederick Friends Club, Walkersville Fire Co. and the Glade Valley Lions Club.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children Maria E. Valcarcel of Walkersville and Julio Valcarcel Jr. and wife Trisha of Thurmont.
Grandchildren Julio III (JT), Victoria Marie and Joseph Patrick Valcarcel.
Brother Elgin Campbell of Tennessee. Sister Judy Cobb of Colorado. Special Friends and Honorary Pallbearers Jeane Bollinger, Patricia and Jose Salaverri, Bonnie Volovar, Rose Lull, Diane Jones, Inez Vargas, Diane Simmons, Rose Marie Myers, Norma Turner, Dorothy Raxter.
She will also be remembered by her many Red Hat Society Sisters.
Visitation: Friends may call on Friday June 6, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville.
Services: Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday June 7, at 11:00am. Pastor Mark L. Foucart and Father Rafael Murillo will officiate. Interment will take Place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
