Nicholas {Nick} {Grandpa} Grande

Mr. Nicholas Nick Grandpa Grande, 90 of Knoxville, MD passed away, Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Grande, his wife of 53 years.

Born in Rochester, NY he was the son of the late Angel and Mary Grande.

Mr. Grande served his country through most of his life. Starting with CCC Camp in his early years and continued with the Army during WWII, and the Korean War. He then finished his duties in Civil Service. He not only served his country for twenty-two years, he also worked with his family for twelve years at Star Concrete Foundations, Inc.

He is survived by his daughters Mary Tilley of Illinois, Brenda Williams of Florida, Fran Cockerham of Maryland, Barbara Green of Maryland, Debbie Pappas of Virginia and Annette Freeman of Maryland, seventeen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and his dearly beloved companion, of fourteen years, Ruth Kennedy.

He was preceeded in death by his son Nicholas, Jr, five brothers and seven sisters.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Avenue, Brunswick on Thursday, May 6, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 7, at 1:30 p.m.
Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery
