Nicholas Lewis

May 21, 1990 — December 15, 2013

Nicholas Shane Lewis, of Mount Airy, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2013 at Washington MedStar Hospital.  He was born in Olney, Maryland on May 21, 1990, and was the loving son of Brendan and Phyllis Lewis of Mount Airy, Maryland.
In Nick’s early years he could be found working as his father’s helper on numerous projects.  He developed a taste for fishing, video games and NASCAR.  His close family friend and best fishing buddy, Ron Beavers, taught Nick how to fish and handle firearms.
Nick was a graduate of South Carroll High School, the class of 2008.  He was employed at Safeway Inc., as the seafood department manager.  In his free time, Nick could be found at IHop, Charlestown Race Track or the Waffle House.  Nick and his girlfriend, Collen Dottellis, were regular participants in “Wednesday Night Shenanigans”.
Nick had a desire to explore as evident by the 150,000 miles he collected on his 2008 Chevy Truck.  He was a passionate fan of country music, in particular George Strait.  Nick was his own man; he took great pride in his work, showed compassion, never spoke ill of others, lived life to the fullest and provided quick wit and humor to those around him.
In addition to his parents, Nick is survived by his brothers, Brendan Connors Lewis II and James William Beavers; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Brennan Lewis of Thurmont; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Nick was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, James Orville and Minnie Page Yokley; his paternal grandfather Captain Price Lewis, Jr; and his uncles Maurice Lee Yokley, Robert Eugene Yokley, Price Lewis III, Thomas Reynolds Lewis, Ian Llewelyn Lewis and Robert Alan Boswell.
The family will receive friends from 6-9pm on Friday December 20, 2013 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, P. A., 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy where Funeral Services will be held 11:00am on Saturday December 21, 2013 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
