Mr. Newton Lopes Goncalves, 47, of Mt. Airy, MD., passed away suddenly, Monday, September 17, 2012 at his home.
Born November 11, 1964 in Takoma Park, MD, he was the son of Jorge and Ruth Lopes Goncalves.
Newton was an avid collector, especially of coins. He helped a lot of charitable organizations throughout his life and was a very loving father and son.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son Joshua Goncalves of Frederick and his sister Lia Stewart of Mt. Airy. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother Wellington Goncalves.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Boulevard, Mt. Airy, for a memorial visitation, on Sunday, September 23, from 2:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 pm.
