Mr. Newman Clay Carmack, Jr., 80, of Frederick, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Michelle Carmack. They were married for four years.
Born April 11, 1933 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Newman Clay Carmack, Sr. and Esther Stockton Carmack.
He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was owner for many years of Carmack's Mobile in Kensington and was an active member of the Kensington Lions Club.
In later years, he was an Independent Carrier for the Frederick News Post.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Newman Carmack, III and wife, Kelly; Robert Carmack, Stephen Carmack and wife, Carol; and Paul Carmack; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Jacob and Noah Carmack; two step-grandchildren, William Arnold and John Haan; two great-grandchildren, Ayden Liddle and Elyjah Liddle; four brothers and sisters, Barbara Parson, Virginia Staley, John Carmack, and Claude Carmack; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Peter Carmack.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from Stauffer Funeral Homes, PA., 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy, MD. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 30 from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 7255 Ridge Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771. Officiating will be ElderThomas Lewis.
Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Rockville.
