Nettie Elizabeth Weaver Bowers, age 88, of 21716 Black Rock Road, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at her home.
Born April 24, 1920 in Hagerstown, she was a daughter of the late John Daniel and Viola V. Worthington Weaver.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, knitting and volunteering in the community.
She was a member of Black Rock Bible Church.
She is survived by four children, Virginia B. Deal of Boonsboro, Joann Rowland of Williamsport, and Glenn L. Bowers and Joseph A. Bowers Sr., both of Hagerstown; one sister, Rayetta J. Smith of Hagerstown; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Cheryl J. Deal and Carolyn E. Bitner-Shifler, one son, Charles C. Bowers, and two brothers, John D. Weaver and Joseph S. Weaver.
Funeral services will be held 1030 A.M. Friday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. Gerald Deal will officiate. Burial will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
