Nelson Wallace Saxon
December 28, 1938 — July 10, 2009
Mr. Nelson Wallace Saxon, 70 of Adamstown, passed away Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley Young Saxon, his wife of 51 years.
Born December 28, 1938 in York, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Mozelle Nimmons Saxon.
Mr. Saxon enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially playing the keyboard.
He worked in construction during his working career.
In addition to his wife he is survived by six children, Kathy Hopkins and husband Felix, Karen Barnes and husband William, Deborah Jurricks and husband Rudolph all of Frederick, Robert Saxon and wife Cristal of Adamstown, Kimberly Saxon of Lorton, VA and Lisa Saxon of Las Vegas, NV, twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, three sisters Gladys Newsom, Henrietta Brown and Shirley Greenfield. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Takiea Saxon and great grandson Kevin M. Harris, III, two brothers Issac Saxon, Robert Saxon, Jr and a sister Frances Givens.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday, July 14, from 9 -11:00 a.m.
Services:
Services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gerald Banks and Elder Emmett Graves officiating.
Interment private.
