Nellie Drinnon
September 7, 1923 — August 26, 2015
On Wednesday the 26th of August our dear grandma, Nellie “Dudie” J. Drinnon, went with Jesus at the age of 91.
Nellie was born September 7, 1923 in Sneedsville, TN, to the late Ollie Belle and Christopher C. Pendleton.
She married Elmer T. Drinnon March 11, 1947 who preceded her in death.
Nellie enjoyed gardening, Southern cooking and looking after her family and friends. She dedicated her life to foster care. Over the years she loved and nurtured many children.
Nellie is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Weishaar and her husband, Ronald; grandchildren, Kathy L. Dwyer, Karen Landean and Christopher R. Weishaar; great-grandchildren, Corey Dwyer, Zachary Dwyer, Christian Dwyer, Nathaniel Dwyer, Jenna Landean and Isabella Eckert.
Nellie will be buried at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Lisbon, MD. Her funeral will take place at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Boulevard, Mt. Airy, 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
