Nathan Claude Eccard passed away at Quincy Village, Waynesboro, PA, July 22, 2018 at the age of 100 years.
Born February 10, 1918 in Mt. Lena, MD, he was the son of Claude G. Eccard and Burnice S. Eccard (nee Ridenour). He was married to Eunice Eccard (nee Fout) who predeceased him.
He is survived by sisters Eleanora Poffenberger of Sharpsburg, MD, Charlotte Kendall of Bel Air, MD, and Erlene Fogus of New Freedom, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers Noah Eccard, David Eccard, Robert Eccard, and sisters Ruth Price, Josephine Barnhill, Betty Davis, and Geraldine Eccard.
In addition to his work on the Eccard family farm, Nathan was a long-time member of the International Union of Operating Engineers - Local 825, working as a Heavy Equipment Operator. His career included working on some of the largest public works projects on the East Coast, including the Baltimore Beltway and the New Jersey Turnpike.
The family will receive friends at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 1-2PM where a funeral service will begin at 2PM.
Burial will take place in the Beaver Creek Cemetery.
