Naomi Cornell

Naomi Virginia (Palmer) Cornell, 96, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, January 2, 2015 at her home.
Born on January 30, 1918, in Boonsboro, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Ray M. and Vada N. (Lemon) Palmer. Her husband, William J. Cornell, preceded her in death in 1989.
She was a 1936 graduate from Boonsboro High School.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown and had been a member of the former Halfway Garden Club.
She is survived by her three children, Gregory R. Cornell of Hagerstown, Douglas C. Cornell of Florida, and Donna L. Adams of Falling Waters, West Virginia; one brother, Donald E. Palmer of Boonsboro; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles R. Palmer.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
