Naomi Angell, 75, of Frederick, Maryland, formerly of Bayonne, New Jersey, passed from this life on Friday, February 10, 2017, after a long battle with cancer and a fight she never gave up.
Born on March 13, 1941 in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Samuel Shimshak and Frances (Landman) Shimshak.
Naomi was a proud American woman. She loved her family and friends, her country and the service members who protect it, her “Lady” (the Statue of Liberty), visiting National Parks and making photo albums of her trips, and was able to cross a trip to Alaska and swimming with and kissing the dolphins off her bucket list. She entertained her friends online with facts of the day and flower photos. She was fierce, especially about her family. Coming from a difficult upbringing and widowed young, Naomi raised three very close children on her own, putting them all through college because education was important to her. She was smart, stubborn, generous, and kind.
She loved and was loved by her children and her grandchildren. Her daughters, Anita Michaels and husband Gerald, Jodie Gergel and husband Noel, and her son David Angell and wife Karin Bond; her grandchildren Bryan Michaels, Emma Gergel, Ainsley Angell, and Matthew Angell; her sisters, Dorothy and Evelyn, niece Karen, great-nieces Samantha and Brittany, and special friends Kelly Villers, Mary Rice, and Candice Valencia.
Her children would like to thank Dr. Hudhud, Dr. Rengen, Dr. Levangie, and Dr. Tolino for the care they gave her over these last few years.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, Maryland.
