Thomas Wingate IV and wife, Amanda of Perry Hall, MD; and Jeremy R. Wingate and wife, Katie of Owings, MD; Grandchildren Connor, Caroline, Charlie, Jackson, Alexander, Carissa and Grant.
Nancy grew up in Shenandoah, PA where she graduated from J.W. Cooper High School in 1966.  There she was a valued member of the cheerleading squad.  At the age of 18 she moved to Maryland where she worked for the Telephone Company and Giant Food.  She worked for over 35 years at Giant Food as a Front End Manager, Cashier, and Retail Trainer.  It was early in her days at Giant Food when she met her husband, George.
Nancy started a family with George in Langley Park, MD where they had their first son.  Then, they moved their family to Laurel, MD where they welcomed two more sons.  In 1981, they moved one last time to the town of Mount Airy where she truly found her home.
Throughout her life Nancy was a devoted wife and loving mother.  Whether she was attending band competitions or concerts, soccer games or field trips, she was always there for her children.  She also loved spending time with her larger family which included her mom, three daughter-in-laws, many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and Godsons.
Nancy enjoyed their frequent trips to Jamaica and other Island destinations with many of their closest friends and family members.  She enjoyed shopping, antiquing, attending Orioles games, time at the beach, and the occasional visit to the casino.
In retirement Nancy began to deliver flowers for Blossom & Basket Boutique in Mount Airy, then moving into a role as florist.
In her later years, Nancy grew into her new role as “Nonna”.  She enjoyed spending time and skyping with her grandchildren, always enjoying time with her “babies”.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at Stauffer Funeral Home in Mount Airy, MD on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 12:00PM.  Family and friends are welcome to begin to visit at 11:00AM.
