Nancy L. Guyer, 94, of Keedysville, Maryland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 4, 2023 at her home.
Born on March 19, 1929, in Keedysville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John Wellington Long and Flossie Mae (Clopper) Long. Her husband Donald A. Guyer preceded her in death.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Keedysville. A graduate of Boonsboro High School, class of 1947, and a lifetime member of the First Christian Church in Boonsboro where she was the organist for sixty-three years.
In her youth, she worked at the Boonsboro Bakery and for Pangborn. She then worked for the Postal Service in Keedysville from which she retired. She loved flowers and was an avid gardener. She took great pride in maintaining her yard.
She will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Donna G. Levey and husband Barry Levey of Keedysville, and Linda K. Jenkins of Shepherdstown, WV; sister Frances Reeder; three grandchildren, Scott Smith and wife Keli, Deena Holder, and Devin Poorman; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah Smith, Madisen Fedorko, Patrick Fedorko, Adrienne Holder, Jonah Poorman, Maura Holder, and Reagan Smith; nieces Lucinda L. Blob, Candace L. Hubbs, Chris L. Hahne, and Gerry Nissanbaum; nephews, Greg Long, Howard Long, Michael Slick, Keith Pound, and Jeff Reeder; former granddaughter-in-law Tina Snoots Smith; lifetime friends, Barbara Wyand, Renee Cromwell, Diane Ledden, Gale Barnes, Jackie Snoots, and Carol Holler. Lastly her furry friend Cosmo.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Patsy Slick, Evelyn Sinnisen, Irene Pound, Hazel Leatherman; and brothers John Long Jr., William Long, and Howard Long.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, MD.
A celebration of Nancy's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the funeral home. Pastor Ben Manning will officiate. Burial will follow services at Fairview Cemetery in Keedysville.
