Nancy Lee Fisher

Nancy Lee Fisher, 81, of Middletown, MD, gained her angel wings on June 1st 2024.

Nancy was born April 1, 1943 in Middletown, MD. She was eldest daughter of the late, Forrest and Virginia Tribett.
She was the wife of Ray W Fisher, her husband of many years who preceded her in death in 2005. 

In 1968, Nancy and her late husband, Ray Fisher opened an Auto body shop.  R.F. Body Works has remained a prominent business in the Frederick area for over 56 years. Nancy had extensive knowledge in the auto body industry and was a known expert in the trade of auto painting. Nancy and Ray had a love for Black Labradors often named ‘Bubby.’

Nancy has always been quite a daredevil. Earlier in life, she had many adventures with her brother and partner in crime, Wayne. She loved dirt-track racing and enjoyed watching her sons compete at the racetrack every weekend. Growing up, she also won several drag races herself competing in the powder puff dirt-track races. Later in life, Nancy was a very adventurous woman known to go sky diving, parasailing, and ziplining. She loved to travel with family. One of her favorite places to visit was St. John’s VI with her brother, Wayne and sister, Linda.  In recent years, she traveled to Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and the Smoky Mountains. Every weekend, you could find her with her side kick, Amy aka ‘Ethel.’
Nancy was very family-oriented, known to have a weekly Sunday dinner tradition. Throughout her years, she hosted numerous parties, family reunions and celebrations at her home. 

Nancy is preceded in death by one son, Ray ‘Joe’ Fisher. She is survived by three daughters, Vicky Wilburn and husband Rick Wilburn of Frederick; Brenda Stevens and husband Larry Stevens of Mt Airy; Dona Shankle and husband Bruce Shankle of Middletown; two sons, Don Fisher of Wolfsville; Ricky Fisher of Middletown; nine grandchildren, Kristy Fisher of Frederick; Jen Braganini and husband John of Frederick; Amy Cash and husband Chris of Frederick;  Stacy Etzler of Frederick, Bruce ‘Bubby’ Shankle II of Middletown; Brandy Shankle of Middletown; Katie Fisher of South Carolina; Darryl Collison and Christina Wilburn; 13 great-grandchildren, Jaden, Rian, Johnny, Jax, Ella, Brenton, Connor, Trevor, Austin, Bryanna, Destinee, Gavin ‘Pete’, and Stella; and one great-great granddaughter, Kaylee; one sister, Linda Gladhill; four brothers, Wayne Tribett; George Tribett; Dennis Tribett and Gary Tribett.

Special thanks to Dr. Sibte Kazmi, Dr. Meredith Wernick, and Dr. Mary McDonald, all of Frederick, MD. All end of life care was lovingly provided by granddaughter, Kristy Fisher, RN.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, June 6, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 7. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to ASPCA, St. Jude, or Wounded Warriors.
