Nancy Bruchey

Mrs. Nancy A. Bruchey, 87, of Frederick, Maryland passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth N. Bruchey, Sr. for 66 years.

Born January 6, 1930 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Leslie W., Jr. and Hildreth Sheffield Grove.

Nancy was a longtime member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She was a 1950 graduate of the Frederick Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and went on to work for Internal Medicine Associates as a Registered Nurse, retiring after 35 years. Nancy was also a member of the Frederick Memorial Hospital Alumni.

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed life. She cherished her reputation as an excellent cook and always looked forward to family meals and holiday celebrations. She enjoyed crochet, gardening, reading, and most especially spending time with her family. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Kenneth N. Bruchey, Jr. (Wendy) of Cambridge, Cynthia A. Schurick (Paul) of Crownsville, granddaughter Alison C. Schurick of Baltimore, brother-in-law Lewis W. Bruchey and wife Deirdre of Frederick, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother Jack Clay Grove.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM, where a memorial service will be held on Friday, March 24 at 11AM.
