Nancy Bikle

Nancy Jane Bast Bikle, age 84, of Old National Pike, Boonsboro, died Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 13, 1924 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Harlan Bast Sr. and Caroline K. Sparrow Bast.
Nancy Jane was a 1942 graduate of Boonsboro High School and a 1945 graduate of the Washington County Hospital School of Nursing.
She had worked as a registered nurse at Washington County Hospital, retiring in 1976.
Nancy Jane was a life-time member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boonsboro where she was active in various capacities over her years of membership.
She was a member of the Washington County Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association and had volunteered with the Red Cross Bloodmobile.
Nancy Jane is survived by her husband, Josef F. "Chris" Bikle, whom she married March 25, 1946; two sons, Mark A. Bikle and wife Marie and Thomas E. Bikle and wife Lisha, all of Boonsboro; and two grandsons, Mattrhew C. Bikle and Joshua R. Bikle, both of Boonsboro.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John H. Bast Jr.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boonsboro. The Rev. Joseph I. Donovan III will officiate. Entombment will be in the Boonsboro Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro.
