Nancy (Anders) Beard

Nancy M. (Anders) Beard, 75, a lifelong resident of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side.
Born on July 21, 1939, in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Ruth (Moser) Anders, Sr.
Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Thurmont High School.
She was a member of Harriet Chapel in Thurmont.
For many years, Nancy worked as a cook at Market Basket in Thurmont.
Nancy enjoyed living life to the fullest and being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Beard, Sr., whom she married on December 3, 1965; her daughter, Dawn Sweeney and husband, Denny, of Thurmont; her two sons, Gene Beard and wife, Rita, of Thurmont and Scott Beard of Cascade, Maryland; "Meme", as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren, is survived by her eight grandchildren, Nathan, Kelly, Derrick, Kyle, Chris, Scott, Ethan and Camelia; her three great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Deegan, and Shay; and her three aunts, Jean Toms, Gin Moser, and Helen Mae Wachter. She is also survived by her two special friends, Ruth "Sis" Hartdagen and Barb Willard; and her mother-in-law, Evelyn Rakes.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Robert Moser, Emory, Norman "Jake", and Roy Anders.
A Celebration of Nancy's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Harriet Chapel, 12625 Catoctin Furnace Road, Thurmont, MD 21788. Rev. Sally Joyner-Giffin will officiate.
