Myrtle Fraley

June 17, 1928 — April 30, 2018

Myrtle Lorraine Fraley, 89, of Mt. Airy died peacefully Monday, April 30, 2018. She was the wife of the late Harold E. Fraley who died in 2002.

Born on June 17, 1928 in Baltimore, the daughter of the late Weldon Gosnell and Sally Harding, she was the adopted daughter of the late Orville and Alice Magaha.

A graduate of Brunswick High School, Myrtle worked at Fairchild Industries, Hagerstown and later was a telephone operator in Frederick. An accomplished seamstress, she was well known for her beautiful creations.

A member of the Mt. Airy 55 Plus Club and the Senior Center, she loved gardening, traveling and spending time with family.

Surviving are two daughters: Lorraine L. Fraley of Mt Airy and Teresa Boyer (Jim) of Frederick; three grandchildren: Angela Darrah (Michael) of Alexandria, VA, Sam Wiles of Middletown and Kevin Boyer (Vanessa) of Chester, MD; three great grandchildren: Chloe Wiles, David J. Boyer, Josephine Darrah; as well as numerous half sisters, nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her best furry friend, Missy May. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer J. Wiles and her three sisters, Mildred, Doris and Betty.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Saturday, May 5, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville, Mt. Airy where services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, May 6. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick
