Joy Hollar

Myra “Joy” Donnelly Hollar, 63 years old, sadly passed on November 20, 2024. Joy’s beloved husband Kenneth G. Hollar proceeded her in death. Joy is survived by her brother Michael T. Donnelly (Bonnie), sister Elisabeth “Liz” Williams (Jim) and many loving nieces, nephews and lots of dear friends.

Joy was raised and lived in Montgomery County until she and Kenny purchased a home in New Market in the late 1990s. They embraced their community and made many friends quickly. Joy’s greatest blessing was her marriage to Kenny. They deeply loved, respected and truly enjoyed one and others company. It was a beautiful love story. Joy’s heart was big, caring and kind. She brought easy smiles and laughter to everyone she met; she enjoyed people and loved her family with all her being. Joy was affectionately referred to as the “Crazy Aunt” which she loved and embraced.

Joy graduated from Einstein High School, Kensington, MD in 1980. She was the Office Manager for Sonus Hearing Care Professionals for 20 years. Helping and interacting with the clients brought her much happiness. 

 Joy was proceeded in death by her parents Myra and Cornelius J. Donnelly, step-mother Sara “Ann” Donnelly, brother Cornelius J. Donnelly, Jr. (late Phyllis), sister Eileen Hartnett (Jim)
