Ms. Bonita Ann Minor

August 24, 1944 — May 6, 2007

Ms. Bonita Ann Minor, 62 of Frederick, MD, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at her daughter's home in Walkersville.

Born in Washington, D.C., she was the eldest daughter of the late John Richard Hitaffer and Anne Josephine Hitaffer.

Bonnie loved to travel, which led to her serving in the ministry in Maryland, Ohio and Oklahoma over the past forty years. She was currently a member of the Glade Valley Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

After retiring in 2004 from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, she spent much of her time with her grandchildren and close friends, and continuing her service in the community. She delighted in cooking for family and friends and was an avid animal lover. She was instrumental in finding loving families for countless stray and neglected companions.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine A. Bernstein of Silver Spring; son, Jeffrey S. Minor and wife Sandra of Martinsburg, W. Va.; daughter, Kelly J. Fowler and husband Daniel of Walkersville; grandsons, Timothy and Andrew Bernstein; sister, Kathryn Pemberton and husband Larry of Newcastle, Ok.; as well as nieces, Angela and Lisa; and a nephew, Alex.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Hitaffer.
