Morris Ella McKissick

Mrs. Morris Ella McKissick, 81 of Thurmont, MD., died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at John's Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. She was the wife of the late Eugene Mc Kissick.

Born May 13, 1927 in Thurmont, MD., she was the daughter of the late Morris and Ella Jane Hahn Jackson.

Mrs. McKissick was a member of Thurmont United Methodist Church. She was employed for 35 years at Claire Frock Co. in Thurmont. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch spending time with her family, neighbors and friends and always had time to talk to anyone who needed to talk. Mrs. McKissick only had two grandchildren and four great grandchildren, but many people called her grandma.

She is survived by one daughter Jo Ellen Miller and husband Allen, two grandchildren Wendy Cordell and husband C. J. all of Thurmont and Jean Rippeon and husband Kevin of Emmitsburg., four great grandchildren Rebecca Cordell, Adam Cordell, Dalton Rippeon and Bailee Rippeon, two sisters Alice Mercer of Frederick and Barbara Diffenbaucher of Greencastle, Pa. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont on Wednesday, January 28, from 2 -4 and 6 - 8 p.m.,

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 29 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Morgan officiating.
