Morganne Lofland

Morganne Elisabeth Lofland, 25, of Frederick, MD, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, on Friday, May 6, 2016. Morganne spent her last days on earth surrounded by those who loved and cared for her in life. As she did so much in life, Morganne continues her passion of giving through the miracle of organ donation.

Born on November 18, 1990, she was the beloved daughter of Larry and Shelly Lofland. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Ryanne and Peytyn, and many loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She attended The Visitation Academy of Frederick for primary/middle school and graduated from Tuscarora High School in 2008 with The Maryland Scholar Award. During her senior year, she interned at Ballenger Creek Elementary School through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program where she helped elementary school children improve their language skills. Her dedication and hard work earned her the prestigious national President’s Volunteer Service Award and recognition from Volunteer Frederick. Attending Frederick Community College, she was pursuing her passion to help others as a student in the American Sign Language program. A scholarship fund is being set up at The Visitation Academy of Frederick. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the academy in care of Morganne Lofland at 200 East 2nd Street Frederick, MD 21701.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, from 5-7 p.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Home located at 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church located at 118 East 2nd Street in Frederick.
