Minnie Ineva (Eve) Leatherman

Eve passed away at the age of 84 years old, on September 21, 2024. She had been a resident of North Hampton Manor Nursing Home in Frederick, Maryland for the past 8 years.

Eve was born on May 16, 1940 in West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Delia Shaffer.

Eve had worked as a waitress before becoming a housewife and Mother, which she loved. She was married for 56 years to the late William Leatherman. William and Eve settled in Aliquippa, PA. where they lived for many years.

Eve always had a large smile on her face that was very contagious. She would light up a room with her smile. Even though Macular Degeneration took Eve’s eye sight, she loved to watch or listen to her old westerns. Among them, Gunsmoke and Walker, Texas Ranger. She couldn’t see them, but she could tell you everything about the show and even some interesting facts about the actors. 

Eve had been preceded in death by a sister, Annabell Carpmail, a brother, Joseph Shaffer Jr., and two nephews, Dennis Clark (Leatherman) and Eddie Zilian.

Eve is survived by her son, Thomas Leatherman and grandson, Eric Leatherman of Texas, a sister, Sue Hughston of Aliquippa, PA., a sister, Margaret Zilian of Forest Hill, MD., nieces, Susan Roberts (Steve) of Aliquippa, PA., Robin Hughston of Sewickley, PA., Terri Burton (Steve) of Maryland, and Vicky Clark of White Pine, TN.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 26 at The Beaver Cemetery and Mausoleum Chapel, 351 Buffalo Street, Beaver, PA 15009.

A private burial will immediately follow.
