Mrs. Mina Jean Bucy Hamilton, 81 of Columbia, MD, and a former long time resident of Middletown, MD, died Friday, January 9, 2009.

Born on December 31, 1927, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Catherine (Turner) and Earl Brown Bucy.

A 1945 graduate of Fort Hill High School, Mina was a administrative support assistant throughout her career. She worked for many different companies ranging from Hughes Aircraft, Downey CA, where she worked on the Apollo Project, to SFA Inc., Frederick Manufacturing Division, Frederick MD where she was a senior buyer.

Mina was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority from the 1950's until she moved to Columbia in 2004.

Survivors include her two children, Craig Hamilton and wife Mary Yerace of Evans, GA and Gail Hamilton Orvos and husband Edward, Jr. of Ellicott City, MD; a granddaughter Jenna Hamilton of Black Hawk, CO; a sister, Eleanor Snider of Cumberland, MD; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Brooks and a brother who died in action during WW II, James E. Bucy.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 15th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Wade Martin officiating. Burial will be private.
