Milton Scheffter, 93, of Mount Airy, formerly of New Castle, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Lorien Health System in Mount Airy, MD. He was the husband of the late Virginia F. Scheffter. Born on May 5, 1923, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of Charles Kellmer Scheffter and Blanche Ellen (Mooney) Scheffter.
Mr. Scheffter worked as an installer for Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania for 36 years. He lived in and raised his family in New Castle, PA until his wife's passing in April 2009, at which time he moved to Mount Airy, MD in July of that same year. Milton was a strong man of faith, having brought up his family in the Christian faith and was a great influence on his children and many others within his faith. Mr. Scheffter was a member of Calvary Independent Church in New Castle for many years. He was a woodworker and made toys for his family, and loved spending time with all of his family, including Friday night dinners at his son's house.
He is survived by son, Kenneth Edward Scheffter and his wife Barbara, daughter, Carol Ellen Nault and her husband John; four grandchildren, Jeanette Nault, Erin Sayers and her husband Luke, Lindsey Seiver and her husband Joe, Rebecca Przybylek and her husband Charles; four great-grandchildren, Scott and Rebecca Seiver and Ginny and Wally Przybylek. Preceded in death by a brother Wendell Scheffter.
