Milton Hahn, Sr.

Milton L. Hahn, Sr., 82 of  Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born on September 4, 1932, in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late Warner and Naomi (Valentine) Hahn.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris E. (Kemp) Hahn in 2004.

He was a 1950 graduate of Frederick High School, the first graduating class that went all the way to the 12th grade.

Milton partnered with his life-long friend, Jim Filby, in 1979 to purchase a consulting and tax franchise in Falls Church, Virginia that he managed until he became too ill this year.  Over the 35 years in business, he earned the trust and friendship of hundreds of clients.  They also owned and operated a service station for many years.

Milton  was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren.  He was also a lifetime member of the Patriotic and Moose Clubs, both of Frederick, the Elks and Owl Clubs of Frederick, the Redman Chippewa Tribe 19 of Frederick, and Camp Kanawha in Point of Rocks, Maryland.

He enjoyed living life to the fullest and being with family and friends. In his spare time, he loved to golf and play cards.

Milton is survived by his loving companion and best friend, Pat Mossburg of Frederick; his daughter, Holly Hahn of Frederick; his son, Milton Hahn, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth of Alexandria, Virginia; his three grandchildren, Nicole Blake and her husband, Leonard of Waldorf, Maryland, Jeramy Flohr, Sr. of Frederick, and Samantha Hahn of Alexandria, Virginia; and his three great-grandchildren, Jasmine Peach, Darius Vinson, and Jeramy Flohr, Jr.;  his sisters, Betty Putman of Seabrook, Maryland, Jenny Garver of Boonsboro, Maryland, Sandy Brandon of Frederick, Pam O'Connor of Hagerstown, Maryland, and his sister-in-law, Barbara Hahn of Pennsylvania.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael W. Hahn;  his brother, Marlin Hahn; his brother-in-law, Dave Putman; and his two nephews.

A Celebration of Milton's Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Avenue,  Frederick, Maryland 21701. Rev. Tim May will officiate.  Final resting-place ceremonies will be held privately by the family at a later date.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at the church.
