Mildred Murray
June 24, 1927 — February 10, 2016
Mrs. Mildred V. Murray, 88, of Mt. Airy, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin F. Murray, who predeceased her in 1962.
Born June 24, 1927 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Mildred E. (Burdette) Bethel.
She loved playing Bingo, crocheting and was an avid Elvis fan. Mildred was full of fun and loved life. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Louise Smith and the Young family for the care and love given to their mother.
Mildred is survived by four children, Evelyn Murray of Virginia, Mildred Steward (Sonny) of Oklahoma, Thomas N. Murray (Cathy) of Virginia, and Frank L. Collins (Sheila) of Tennessee; a brother, William A. Bethel (Mary) of Buckeystown; two sisters, Dorothy A. Reed (Jim) of Maryland and Margaret A. Webb of Colorado; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Mary J. Pool, and a brother, Thomas C. Bethel.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD 21771, with a funeral service to begin at 6 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Tim May.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
