Mildred Ann Harrison August 4, 1929 - June 17, 2014
Mildred G. Harrison passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in Ft. Meyers, Florida surrounded by her family. Mildred was born and raised in Tracy’s Landing, Maryland the daughter of the late Joseph L. Gibson and Annie S. Gibson.
Mildred studied piano at the Peabody Institute and later graduated from the Eaton Burnett Business College of Baltimore. Mildred married the late Ed Harrison September 2, 1948. Mildred and Ed made their home in Annapolis. The past 20 years they split their time between their Annapolis home and their home on Sanibel Island, Florida.
Mildred was a devoted mother and wife and was an active volunteer with Trinity United Methodist Church, The Canteen at the Crownsville Hospital and Anne Arundel Medical Center. Her grandsons Tripp and Blair were the light of her life.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ed, her brothers, Joseph, Samuel, and McLane Gibson and her sister Virginia Gibson Hohing. Mildred is survived by sister, Mary Priscilla (Sil) O’Neill, her daughter Margaret Harrison Fox of Raleigh, North Carolina, her son Edward (Ted) Harrison and his wife Sally and her grandsons, Edward (Tripp) Harrison of Louisville, Kentucky and Blair Harrison of Atlanta, Georgia.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 403 South Main Street, Mt. Airy, MD 21771. Burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1300 West Street, Annapolis, MD 21401.
