Mildred Davis

Mildred M. Davis, 90, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD

Born on June 6, 1929, in Mountaindale, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joshua Abraham Lincoln  Rice and Carrie R.  (Eaton) Rice.

She was the loving wife of Glenn E. Davis, her husband of 67 years.

She graduated from Frederick High School, Class of 1946.  Mildred worked as a sales clerk for JC Penney and a payroll clerk for Marriott International.  She also was proud of her role as homemaker.
She was also a member of Bush Creek Church of the Brethren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son,  Darwin E. Davis and his wife, Susan.  Grandmother of Christina M. Sanders and her husband, Zac. Great grandmother of Benjamin Ryan Sanders; sisters, Madelyne Hoffman and Elma M. Johnson; brother, Lawrence Rice.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by her son, Wayne E. Davis, who passed away June 24, 2018.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.

A celebration of Mildred's life journey will take follow at the funeral home at 12:00 pm.  Rev. Leo Barnes will officiate.  Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in  Frederick, MD.
