Milby Shepley

Mr. Milby Lee Shepley, 77, of Walkersville died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Ballenger Creek Center.

Born May 29, 1939 in Myersville, he was the son of the late Floyd L. and Lena L. (Blickenstaff) Shepley.

Milby was a 1957 graduate of Walkersville High School. He worked as a custodian at Linganore High School for 15 years before his retirement. Prior to that, he worked at Frederick Southern States for eight years. He was a life member of the Walkersville Fire Co and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Milby attended Calvary United Methodist Church of Mt. Airy, Glade Valley Church of the Brethren, and Frederick Church of the Brethren.

Milby always cared deeply about those in need, and he greatly supported the CROP Hunger Walk, a ministry through Church World Service.

He is survived by his brother Larry Shepley of Walkersville, sister Judy Burrier and husband Larry of Frederick, sister Carolyn Wiles of Frederick; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Debra Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Ruth Aukerman, and assisting will be Rev. Dennis Yocum and Pastors Tim and Donna Ritchey Martin.

Interment will follow in Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville.
