Mr. Mickey Zimmer, 49 of Adamstown, MD, died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Leslie Gottheit Zimmer.
Born February 18, 1959 in Florida he was the son of the late Fritz Karl and Doris Carpenter Zimmer.
Mickey was employed as an RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) for the National Institutes of Health. He was also the inventor of the Pull-Right, a patented hand tool. Prior to his death, he was working on several other inventions, including one that was pending a patent. In his free time, he loved riding his Harley, golfing, woodworking and vacationing on Anna Maria Island, his birthplace and childhood home.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Kristin and Michael Zimmer and Kelly Preston, grandchildren Jesse, Lilly and Emily, his brother Mike Zimmer and sisters Penny Karn and husband Darvin and Patty Gladwin, nephews Jordan and Shawn Zimmer, sister-in-law Nancy Zimmer, mother-in-law Vicki Gottheit, mother and father-in-law Martha and Ron Williams and brother-in-law Perry Brandon.
He will also be remembered by his friends Keith Farrer, Lorrie and Danny Jones,Sonja Farrer, his adopted mom Connie Farrer,and his adopted dad Jim Farrer, who was recently deceased.
He was preceded in death by a brother Mark Zimmer and his father-in-law Fred Gottheit.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Friday, May 30, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Services:
Services will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 2:00 p.m. from the Trinity United Methodist Church, 705 W. Patrick St., Frederick with The Rev. Harold Bell Wright, II officiating.
Interment will be private.
