Michael "Mike" Smith

Michael "Mike" W. Smith, 53, of Boonsboro, died peacefully at his home on on Sunday, September 12, 2010, while surrounded by family and friends.

Born on July 20, 1957 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he is the son of Nancy J. (Leatherman) Smith of Boonsboro, and the late Wayne A. Smith.

Mike was a member of the Williamsport High School Class of 1975.

He spent his career working as a mason.  His last employer was Jolliffe Masonry and Construction Company in Williamsport.

Mike was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Kyle Busch fan.

In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by one sister, Barb J. and her husband Tim Warrenfeltz of Fairplay, MD.; and two brothers, Randy L. Smith and his wife Holly of Falling Waters, West Virginia and Bill W. Smith and his wife Trudy, of Boonsboro.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his sister Donna M. Huntzberry; his brother, Wayde A. Smith; and one nephew Dustin W. Smith.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home P.A., 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.  The Rev. Richard G. Hembrock will officiate.  Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Maryland.

Friends may visit at the funeral home beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, where the family will recieve friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
