Michael Allan "Mike" Martin, age 33, of 3725 Chestnut Grove Road, Keedysville, MD, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, in Boonsboro, MD.
Born Feb. 28, 1974 in Bethesda, MD, Mike was a son of Sherman Edward and Geraldine Lorraine Fitzwater Martin of Keedysville.
He was employed with the Maryland National Capitol Park and Planning Commission in Montgomery County, MD.
Mike was a kind and giving young man who had graduated from Boonsboro High School and Hagerstown Junior College. He loved the mountains, beach and automobiles and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by one brother, 1st Lt. Mark E. Martin of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, Ohio; paternal grandmother, Helen Martin of Chewsville, MD; three aunts, Bobbie Martin of Hagerstown, Theresa Roberts of Boyds, MD, and Julie Martin of Frederick; two uncles, Richard Martin of Laytonsville, MD, and Steven Fitzwater of Hagerstown, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Velma & Leonard Fitzwater and paternal grandfather, Sherman E. Martin Sr.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Thursday at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
