Michael A. Mack McClanahan, 45, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009. He was the husband of Lauren McClanahan.
Born April 24, 1964, he was the son of Eleanor McClanahan of Pennsylvania and the late Monroe McClanahan.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1982 to 1984.
Michael was a member of the Frederick American Legion, FSK Post 11, where he served as sergeant at arms, second vice commander, first vice commander and was a past post commander. He was active in committees at post level. He also served as president of Camp West-Mar and American Legion Camp for underprivileged boys.
In addition to his mother, Eleanor, and his loving wife, Lauren, he is survived by his children, Alicia, Michael, Jennifer, Tamara, Raven, and John and his wife, Katherine; a grandson, Andrew; his brothers and sisters, Dena (Mrs. Brad) Livingston of Plano, Texas, Jerry McClanahan and wife, Nicole, of Fannetsburg, Pa., Renee (Mrs. Russell) Graham of Springfield, Ohio, Sean McClanahan and wife, Lori, of Scotland, Pa., Tammy (Mrs. Kevin) Allen of Valdosta, Ga., Dale McClanahan of Chambersburg and Craig McClanahan and wife, Heather, of Peachtree, Ga.; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Services:
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Commander Matt Staden and Chaplain Wayne Swomley officiating.
Interment is private.
