Mr. Michael H. Sincevich, 85, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 27, 2015, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born on September 23, 1929, in West Brownsville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Stanley P. and Sophia S. (Lucas) Sincevich. His wife, Marilyn A. (Hoffmann) Sincevich, predeceased him on April 22, 2006.
Michael was the beloved father of Marcy Ladson and husband James of Bedford, PA, Michael Sincevich and wife Rose of Frederick, MD, Melanie Sumpter and husband Terry of Rohrersville, MD, Mary Porter and husband Neil of Brunswick, MD, Melissa Beard of Frederick, MD, Michele Reese and husband Russ of Hagerstown, MD, Matthew Sincevich and wife Natalie of Suwanee, GA and Maureen Moore of Jefferson, MD. His grandchildren are: Joe and Tom Ladson, Mike, Alex and wife Jen, Patrick, Erin Rose and husband Adam Lawrence, Jack, Sophia Alice and Samuel Sincevich, Kenton Sumpter and Kaitie and husband Paul Tysoe, Josh and wife Corrie, Jordan and Justin Beard, Emily and husband Bill Finken, Jackie, Jacob, and Kevin Reese and Victor and Marilyn Sincevich. Michael was blessed with six great-grandchildren: Jocelyn, Myah, Kaycen, Xander, Treiana, and Weylin. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Zella; and many nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by his many dear friends - family by love as well as by blood.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Stan and Vince; and by grandsons Leo Francis Sincevich, John Daniel Ladson and Samuel Hilton Ladson; and son-in-law, Jeff Moore.
He was a wonderful husband and father, and outstanding teacher and leader. Devoted to his faith, he lived it, by working tirelessly in service to the Catholic Community in Frederick County. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. His career as an educator and mentor to his students lasted 39 years. He served his country during the Korean conflict in the United States Army. He loved the outdoors and instilled the love of nature in his children and grandchildren. He never met a stranger and lived his life every day as a celebration.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015, at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD 21793. Father Keith Boisvert will be celebrant. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. Please meet at the church for the Mass on Monday morning.
The family will be present to receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 31 and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at the Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland 21702.
