Michael Lynn Shank

Michael L. "Mike" Shank, 67, of Boonsboro, passed from this life on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland surrounded by his family. 

Born on August 11, 1956, in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late Ralph F. and Shirley Marie (Poffenberger) Shank.

Mike was a 1974 graduate of Boonsboro High School. For 42 years he was a weld leader for Canam Steel in Point of Rocks where he made many friendships. 

He was a former member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church. Mike enjoyed the Friday night lights at the Warrior stadium. His favorite sports teams are the Baltimore Ravens, the Maryland Terps, and the Baltimore Orioles. He was a master lawn mower where his blades of grass were perfectly even. 

Mike will be sorely missed by the love of his life, Mary Kline of Boonsboro; his sisters, Tina M. Shank and Cathy S. Wetzel and husband, Rock, all of Hagerstown and Dottie C. Howard and husband, Bob, of Boonsboro; nieces and nephews, Dwan M. Timmons, Lee Mitchell and Kevin Bohrer and wife, Hillary; twin great-niece and great-nephew, Oliver and Everly and great-niece and great-nephews, Robert "Scott" Click, Asalee Mitchell and Damon Mitchell; and aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.

A celebration of Michael's life journey will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. James E. Jones will officiate. Final resting place will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Hose Company of Boonsboro.
