Michael Maxwell

Michael Francis Maxwell passed unexpectedly in Gettysburg, PA on April 29, 2016 at the age of 55.
He was born May 25, 1960 in Washington, DC, graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School class of 1978. After moving to Gettysburg, Michael began working for the Gettysburg College where he was employed 23 years. He recently retired with plans to move to Texas with his older brother.
Michael is survived by his mother, Dolores A. Maxwell of Frederick; his brother, Daniel Maxwell and wife, Norma, of Robinson, TX and his sisters, Karen Baker and husband, Patrick, of Woodsboro, MD and Ellen Hoffman and husband, Ray, of Rutledge, TN; his step mother, Clara Maxwell of Ortanna, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Maxwell; his brother, Thomas Maxwell; and his niece Kristen Hoffman.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Graveside services to follow in Ortanna, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
