Michael Maillis

Michael R. Maillis, 48, of Frederick, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 after an extended illness.

Born September 5, 1967 in Youngstown, OH, he was the son of Victor M. Maillis of Youngstown, OH and Linda L. Maillis Lockhart of Frederick and the late Daniel W. Lockhart.

Mike graduated from JFK High School in 1985. He was employed by Heraeus Noblelight America LLC as a customer service representative.

Loved by his many friends, he had a wonderful sense of humor with a gift of making them laugh. He was a tried and true Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Mike was a devoted and loving son.

In addition to his loving mother, he is survived by two uncles, Noel S. Wheeler of Pittsburgh, PA and his six children and Harry R. (Aunt Linda) Wheeler of Hubbard, OH and his two children; and his friend, Teresa Nogueira of Myersville, MD, who was dear to his heart.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Ida Wheeler.

A Life Celebration will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Brook Hill United Methodist Church, 8946 Indian Springs Road, Frederick with Rev. Dana Werts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to services at the church.
