Michael Lucas, 58, of Mount Airy, MD died suddenly on March 11, 2013 at home.
Mike was born August 12, 1954 to William and Margaret (Carroll) Lucas. He grew up in Riverdale, MD and attended DeMatha Catholic High School, where he played football and baseball. Michael and his family have lived in Mount Airy, MD for the past 20 years. He had a true passion for his career in sales, and his customer base, which he considered his friends. He had an incredible love for life and was a true family man, and a hero to his daughters. Michael was a loving father to Carol Lucas (Rich Kyle), Sarah (Lucas) Van Fossen (Brian Van Fossen), Candace Sims, Mitchell Weimer, and their mother Cherie Aker. He was a loving companion to Heather Ingegneri and her daughter Bella. He also leaves behind Sister Carol Drevo (Bob), brother William Lucas (Colleen); grandchildren Shelby, Jamie and Kimberly Hicks, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren Brandon and Alexis Weimer. He will be remembered for his big smiles, warm hugs, and larger than life personality.
Visitation will be at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt Airy, MD on Sunday, March 17th, from 2-4 and 6-8. The memorial service will held Monday, March 18th, at 11am at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Libertytown, MD. The burial will follow the service at Gate of Heaven in Silver Spring, MD.
